Counter-Strike 2 2v2 League Season 1 Schedule

  • Season Period: March 23rd, 2024 – December 21st, 2024
  • Tournament Frequency: Weekly on Saturdays
  • Time: Begins at 6 P.M.
  • First Tournament: March 23rd, 2024
  • Last Tournament: December 21st, 2024
  • Championship Tournament Invitational: December 28th, 2024
  • Location: HunterM Esports Center

Official Meet-up Overview and Format

  • Meetup format:
The official format for USA Esports Network meetups will be single elimination, 2v2 competitive, with best of 3 matches throughout. Each map will be played under standard wingman rules. These will be the same rules as if you were in an online wingman match.
  • Bracket setup:
The bracket will be generated by seed, which is determined by the date the team was created. Teams that sign up earlier will have a higher seed.
  • Server and lobby:
Matches will be conducted on a LAN setup, utilizing the computer of the team captain with the higher seed as the host.
  • Map selection for wingman event:
The higher-seeded team first bans a map, leaving three. The opposing team picks one from those three for Round 1. The loser of Round 1 picks from the remaining two maps for Round 2. The last map left is used for Round 3. For the first two rounds, the team that didn’t pick the map chooses their starting side. For Round 3, a knife round decides starting sides, making it fair and competitive.
  • Map selection:
The current active duty competitive map pool will be used:

    • Overpass
    • Vertigo
    • Nuke
    • Inferno

Registration will be open to both full teams and individuals as free agents.

  • Free agent assignment to teams rule #1:  If you’re interested in our event but don’t have a team, there’s no need to worry! You can participate as a “free agent.” Our event has a unique system for free agents: a team can only be formed if there are 2 free agents available to ensure a complete team. This means that a free agent can only join a team that is exclusively made up of free agents. Unfortunately, if we have fewer than 2 free agents, we cannot form a free-agent team, which means you won’t be able to participate in the event without a pre-existing team.
  • Free agent assignment to teams rule #2: A newly formed team of free agents may choose their own name.
  • Free agent assignment to teams rule #3: If your rank is too low, you will be assigned to a team of players with a similar rank to yours under the team name “Contenders #1/2/3/etc”. We encourage players of all skill levels to compete. However, free agents with a low, competitive rank will be grouped together to keep the tournament fun and competitive. This is so low-level players don’t end up on high-skill teams. This will only cause the player to be a liability to the team. If put on a high-skill team, both parties will not have a fun time. Players in the bottom 50th percentile of rank will be placed on the Contender’s team.
  • Minimum age. The minimum age to register for this event will be 18.
  • Participation Requirements – Venue Fee: No specific venue fee is required. Instead of a traditional venue fee, participants must possess an active membership from the sponsor’s store. Our events are supported by two venue sponsors, HunterM ESports and iBattle ESports, which operate local LAN centers.
  • Participation Requirements – Prize Pool Contribution: Participants are not required to directly contribute directly to the prize pool. Instead, a sponsor will allocate $10 per participant towards the prize pool. All participants must maintain an active store membership with sufficient hours to ensure uninterrupted gameplay throughout the event, preventing any disruptions due to a lack of game time under the membership.
  • Required membership corresponding to the event’s location: a HunterM store membership for events at HunterM and an iBattle store membership for events at iBattle.
  • Why do we require a sponsor’s store membership?
    • Requiring a sponsor’s store membership is essential for the smooth operation of the LAN center, which serves as an active venue for both meet-up participants and regular customers, including walk-ins. This policy ensures that services are provided efficiently and without confusion, as everyone—whether they are attending a meet-up event or just stopping by—logs in the same manner through a registered membership. Consequently, this approach facilitates a more seamless experience for all patrons, enabling the LAN center to maintain a high level of service across the board.
    • As event participants and video game enthusiasts, please remember that we must follow our sponsor’s rules. Without our sponsor’s LAN center, we’d miss out on the fantastic events you can’t get from online meetups. So, respecting these policies is key to keeping these special in-person gaming experiences possible.
  • What benefits can you expect from holding a sponsor’s store membership?
    • No Contribution to Prize Pool: Enjoy the perk of not having to contribute to the prize pool. The sponsor covers these costs, potentially allowing you to win big without a direct investment.
    • Cost-Efficient Playtime: Instead of a flat venue fee, you only pay for the time you spend playing. This pay-as-you-play model means if you’re eliminated early from a game, you only pay for the short time you’ve played. Not in a game? Simply log out to stop the clock. You can save significantly when you purchase a 12-hour package.
    • lifetime Membership with Bonuses: For a one-time fee of $35, you receive a lifetime membership with 2 free hours as a welcome gift. This initial investment is quickly recouped, especially considering the potential to win prize money several times over your input, all while enjoying top-quality LAN center amenities, including high-end gaming rigs and zero-latency commercial fiber networks.
    • Can free game time be received at a sponsor’s venue? Our sponsors periodically offer promotions that allow members to earn complimentary game time. By accumulating these free gaming credits in your membership account, you can conveniently apply them towards game time for our meetup events. This is a fantastic way to enjoy more gaming without any additional cost.
  • Why do our sponsors offer such incredible deals at their premier venues?
    • The answer is simple: a passion for Esports and a commitment to the growth of the gaming community in a healthy, sustainable way. It’s worth noting that LAN centers typically charge $20 per person for event hosting, with full venue rentals running into the thousands. This demonstrates our sponsors’ eagerness to support and nurture the Esports community’s development.
  • Maximum teams allowed: There will be a maximum of 32 teams for the in-person event
  • Minimum Number of Teams for the Event: Two teams are required to proceed for the meet-up event. While having more teams would undoubtedly enhance the fun and excitement, our primary goal is to ensure a memorable and enjoyable experience for each participant, regardless of the number of teams registered. We place a high value on individual satisfaction and the quality of the experience rather than merely the quantity of attendees. Our weekly events are designed with the aim of fostering enjoyment and meaningful engagement for all participants. Your participation is what makes each event special, and we are committed to ensuring that everyone has a great time
  • Event Cancellation Policy: The USA ESports administration holds the authority to cancel the meet-up at any given time for any reason. It’s important to understand that this policy is not in place to facilitate cancellations for trivial reasons. Instead, it serves as a proactive measure to address any unforeseen circumstances that may arise. Our commitment is to ensure the safety and satisfaction of all participants, and this policy enables us to respond effectively to any situation that might compromise those priorities.
  • Player and team name restriction: Explicit, offensive, or vulgar team or player names will not be allowed, and any player or team is subject to disqualification or denied registration for violating this policy.
  • Event Discord server: All registered players must join the Discord. The Discord server will be used to announce updates on meetup details to all registered and interested players. The Discord will also be used to answer player questions and support. Join at: (https://discord.gg/BXV6mVA)
  • Discord naming convention: Team members must change their name in the Discord server to the following format – “Team name | Player name as entered at registration.” Any player that does not change their name will be subject to an admin changing the name for them.
  • Phone number at registration: All participants must also provide their phone number when registering for the event on Start.gg
  • Team Captain Guidelines: Team captains handle match scheduling and official communications with tournament admins and must conduct themselves respectfully and professionally. Captaining a team is a significant responsibility that requires full attendance at events, except with pre-approved absences by an event admin.
  • Team Commitment Policy: Players are bound to that specific team for the entire season upon creating or joining a team. Players are prohibited from creating new teams or joining different teams once they have committed to one for the season.
  • Season Swap limit: Teams are permitted up to four unofficial player swaps per season. An unofficial player is defined as one not officially registered with the team as a member or official substitute at the beginning of a season. To ensure a seamless experience for everyone, it’s mandatory for all participants, including unofficial players, to possess a membership at the sponsor’s venue. This requirement helps prevent system login issues, ensuring every player can access the event smoothly.
  • Team Location Policy: Our tournament is specifically designed to accommodate teams from across the U.S.A region.
  • Check-In Requirement: Teams must be present and check in at least 10 minutes before the start of the meet-up to ensure a timely and organized commencement of the event.
  • Set-up and warm-up time: Teams will be given a 15-minute window to set up and get warmed up.
  • Additional practice time: Additional practice time will not be given out. Should you want extra practice time, please show up earlier in the day or on another day beforehand.
  • Emergency substitute rule #1: If an urgent situation is required, event admins may approve an emergency substitute to allow the match to proceed. However, it’s important to note that these unregistered substitutes are ineligible for any official prize pool winnings.
  • Emergency Substitute rule #2: Teams can have up to two official substitutes, recommended but not required. If both substitutes are unavailable for an event, teams may use one of their four seasonal swaps for an unofficial substitute. If both registered substitutes cannot participate in a given event, teams can utilize one of their four seasonal swaps to bring in an unofficial substitute.
  • Banned participant registration: Any and all potential registrants that have been banned from any USA Esports Network’s sponsor Lan Centers or have been banned from any previous USA Esports Network meetup are also banned from registering for this and all future events.

Official Meet-up Prize Pool Details

  • Prize money payment: Prize money will be paid out via business check, in-store, and given to each registered team member at the conclusion of the meet-up.
  • Prize pool preparation and formation: USA Esports Network’s sponsors donate $10 per participant.
  • Prize distribution model: Our prize distribution follows a tiered model, employing a 50-30-20 split among the top three finishers. This allocation applies consistently, with the exception of events featuring two or three teams, where adjustments are made to accommodate the unique competition structure
  • Prize money for unregistered team substitutes: Prize pool earnings from the USA Esports Network are exclusively awarded to officially registered team members. USA Esports network allocates winnings to the two official players constituting a team. Should your team choose to distribute a portion of these earnings to substitute or unregistered players who participated in the event, such arrangements must be internally agreed upon. The USA Esports Network does not partake in or influence decisions regarding the internal distribution of prize winnings among team members.

In these competitions, teams will contend for supremacy, with higher-placing teams awarded more points while those in lower positions earn fewer. This tiered point system ensures a fair reflection of performance across the board. League rank can be found on our league homepage throughout the season.

Championship Tournament Invitational

As the league progresses, teams will aim to accumulate as many points as possible to secure their position on the league roster. The ultimate goal is to be among the top 16 teams, as only these teams will receive an invitation to the prestigious Championship Tournament Invitational. This event represents the culmination of the season, where the invited teams will compete for the largest cash prizes offered throughout the year.
